Privacy policy

Private by default

AI Calendar finds dates and times on web pages you choose and helps you prepare calendar events. Before it processes visible webpage text or requests website access, it presents an in-product disclosure and requires your affirmative agreement. Date detection, settings, and local usage counters stay in your browser.

What AI Calendar processes

  • Visible page text is scanned locally only after you agree to this processing and only on sites where you explicitly enable the extension. The consent version and time are stored locally so a later policy change can require a fresh agreement.
  • Locale, time zone, default duration, enabled-site origins, appearance settings, and local usage counters are stored in chrome.storage.local.
  • AI Calendar does not operate a developer backend, require a developer-operated account, or use remote analytics in this release. A Google account is required only if you choose Save to Google Calendar.

Calendar actions and Google data

  • Choosing Save to Google Calendar sends only the event fields you review and confirm—such as title, time, location, and notes—directly from the extension to your primary Google Calendar. This happens only after your explicit confirmation in an extension-owned review tab and uses the calendar.events.owned permission.
  • The local-core release does not automatically add events or use Calendar authorization to list or read existing events, change existing events, or delete events.
  • Choosing Open in Google opens a standard Google Calendar page with the event fields included in the URL. Google processes that request under its own privacy policy.
  • Choosing Download .ics creates the calendar file locally in your browser.

What AI Calendar does not do

AI Calendar does not sell personal information, use page content for advertising, transmit page text to the developer, process payments, or use remote code.

Retention

Enabled-site origins, settings, and usage counters remain in local extension storage until you revoke consent, reset them, clear Chrome's extension data, or uninstall AI Calendar. The developer cannot access that local data. A reviewed event remains only in trusted extension session storage for up to 30 minutes while you complete a Calendar action. A duplicate-prevention record expires after 24 hours and contains no raw event text, event fields, page URL, or page origin.

Limited use

AI Calendar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Its use of information received from Chrome APIs also follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. Information is used only to provide the calendar-event preparation features described here.

Your choices

You can revoke website-text processing in AI Calendar Options. That immediately clears enabled sites and stops future processing until you agree again and enable a site. AI Calendar also asks Chrome to remove optional website access and verifies the result. If Chrome cannot confirm removal, Options tells you to retry or remove the access in Chrome settings. You can also disable an individual site from the extension popup, remove site access in Chrome, clear the extension's local storage, or uninstall the extension at any time.
